Ok… Are all human languages and cultures continually related? I previously just thought it was cultures that continue to be related. And so there are four large discernible branches of the World Language Family:

Are there overarching language families that transcend typological similarities?
Maybe! There could easily be transcendent Western and Eastern language families. Either way, it is possible to map out some aspects of human history by comparing languages in this way.
